One Place for Everything: Introducing the Summit Fleet Customer Portal

Managing a fleet has always meant managing information from a dozen different places.

Invoices in one system. Vehicle locations somewhere else. Damage paperwork in an email thread. Rental requests through a phone call. Recall notices buried in a separate login.

Every answer requires a different source. Every update requires a different person. And somewhere in the middle of all that, decisions get made on information that’s already out of date.

That’s the problem the Summit Fleet Customer Portal is designed to solve.

Everything in One Place

The Customer Portal gives fleet managers a single destination for the information that runs their operation — fleet visibility, rentals, invoicing, damage management, reporting, recalls, and support, all under one login.

No more cross-referencing systems. No more chasing down paperwork. No more waiting on a phone call to get a status update.

If it touches your fleet, it’s in the portal.

What You Can Actually Do In It

This isn’t a read-only dashboard. The portal is built for fleet teams that need to act, not just observe.

Your Fleet, at a Glance

The My Fleet view shows your full list of assets — vehicle details, driver assignments, plates, registrations, mileage, engine oil life, and live telematics updates. A fleet map shows the latest location ping for each vehicle, along with key metrics like Geotab data and engine oil life. You can filter by rental, leased, or managed vehicles, and organize assets using your own internal references like job site or team name.

Rental Requests, From Start to Finish

Submit on-rent and off-rent requests directly in the portal — with delivery details, dates, PO numbers, vehicle types, and extras all captured in one form. Once submitted, the request flows straight into Summit Fleet’s operational workflow. You can track status, view assigned vehicles, see what’s been delivered, and review your full rental history without picking up the phone.

Invoices and Payments, Without the Back-and-Forth

The billing section gives you a real-time view of your balances, overdue aging, and invoice history. Open and paid invoices are both accessible, with downloadable PDFs attached. Payment options — including ACH and credit card — are available at the invoice level. You can also review your active rate cards, rental fees, allowances, and overage rates so there are no surprises on the bill.

Damage Transparency and Dispute Tools

When a damage charge comes through, you’ll have the full damage packet available alongside the invoice — estimates, supporting documents, and all. If something doesn’t look right, you can submit a damage dispute directly from the portal, creating a case for the Summit Fleet damage team to review.

Recalls, Tracked and Current

The portal pulls VIN-specific recall information from government sources so you always know what’s outstanding. Due dates, comments, notes, and related files are all visible in one place — no more discovering a recall months after the fact.

Fleet Smart: Telematics That Actually Means Something

Fleet Smart is the portal’s built-in reporting tool, and it’s one of the more powerful features in the platform. It summarizes telematics data, driver behavior, alerts, damage trends, and vehicle risk — and it benchmarks your fleet against similar industries within Summit Fleet’s broader customer base.

Driver scorecards show speeding, harsh braking, rapid acceleration, idling, and cornering, with trend data over time. Damage reporting breaks down by driver and zone. And the industry comparison gives you honest context on how your fleet stacks up.

It’s the kind of visibility that used to require a separate analytics tool — now it’s built in.

API Connectivity for Teams That Want to Go Further

For customers who want Summit Fleet data inside their own BI tools, fleet management systems, or internal reporting, the portal includes API connectivity. Fleet data, rental status, invoices, vehicle location, driver data, and telematics alerts can all be pulled directly into whatever systems your team already runs on.

API access has a per-vehicle cost and requires some technical development to set up. For teams with the resources to build it, it’s the most seamless way to make Summit Fleet data part of your existing workflow.

Who Has Access Now

The portal has been available to U.S. rental customers for several years and continues to receive updates. Here’s where things stand for the broader rollout:

  • U.S. rental customers — Access is available now.
  • U.S. leasing customers — Summit Fleet is targeting September 2026 for leasing functionality.
  • Canadian customers — Migration is targeted for Q4 2026, with the goal of having all Canadian customers onboarded by year end.

Customers with both U.S. and Canadian fleets should expect separate logins, since accounts and invoicing are typically managed separately across the two markets.

Access is included with your Summit Fleet account — there’s no additional cost to use the portal.

A Platform That Keeps Getting Better

The portal isn’t finished. Summit Fleet is continuing to build out features, including tools for fleet turnover insights, rental-to-lease decision support, and deeper reporting capabilities. Customer feedback is part of that process.

The direction is clear: the portal becomes more useful over time, and the teams that adopt it early are the ones that have the most to gain.

Get Into the Portal

If you’re a U.S. rental customer and haven’t logged in yet, you can access the portal from the SummitFleet.com homepage. Your invitation email includes login instructions — and a forgot-password option is available if you need it.

For a full breakdown of portal features, availability, and common questions, visit our Customer Portal FAQ. If you have questions about access, advanced features, or API connectivity, reach out to your Summit Fleet representative or contact our team directly.

Your fleet runs 24 hours a day. Your data should be just as available.
