The Trident Response Group (TRG) of Dallas, TX, has joined forces with Team Rubicon, an internationally-known non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, CA, to assist in the cleanup efforts throughout the Houston region. Summit Fleet joined the effort by donating part of its fleet of crew cab pickup trucks to the volunteer teams as they work to clean up the affected areas.
Effects from Hurricane Harvey
What some are saying is one of the most damaging natural disasters in the history of the U.S., Hurricane Harvey dumped around 27 trillion gallons of water in Texas and Louisiana and has caused billions of dollars in damage to residential and commercial property. Many residents have been forced to leave their homes. The need for donations (supplies and monetary) and volunteers to assist in the cleanup is paramount. That’s where the Trident Response Group comes in.
Who is the Trident Response Group?
The Trident Response Group has a specific mission: To keep leaders, businesses and families ready. It is an Intelligence-based consulting firm with a focus in threat solutions, readiness training, and risk mitigation. Based in Dallas, TRG is comprised of professionals from various backgrounds including business leaders, attorneys, and veterans from the US Intelligence Community, Federal Law Enforcement, and Military Special Operations.
Who is Team Rubicon?
Team Rubicon began in 2010 in response to the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that shook Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Marines Jake Wood and William McNulty knew they could be of assistance. They immediately teamed up with six other military veterans and first responders and collected medical supplies and monetary donations from friends and family and flew to the Dominican Republic. Once they arrived, they rented a truck, filled it with the supplies, and drove west to Haiti.
Teaming Up
The Trident Response Group joined forces with Team Rubicon to assist in the Hurricane Harvey cleanup. This volunteer effort, named Operation Hard Hustle, is in response to the extreme flooding Harvey caused in many Texas counties, leaving many residents in need of help. The volunteers of this effort have been assisting with debris removal, volunteer management, chainsaw operations, and expedient home repair. Team Rubicon, who is leading the effort, has reported they have more than 1,037 volunteers, 414 work orders, and 48,620 hours logged.
