Recently, Government Fleet publicized the 2020 rankings for the top government fleets in the US. This ranking is for the best 20 fleets that came out on top of the 50 leading government fleets. The Government Fleet also acknowledged the remaining award recipients. This was all done in a virtual setting via the Virtual Honors Celebration on June 16.
The American Public Works Association (APWA) co-produces this award along with the Government Fleet. Sam Lamerato, Brian Franklin, Brad Salazar, and Kelly Reaganacted as the judges and announced the fleet winners. Meanwhile, Tony Gratson announced the top fleets, and Ford was the sponsor for the award.
This award judges the fleet companies based on how well they exhibit their leadership skills with their employees, customers, and even within the community that they run in. It also evaluates them on how competitive and efficient they are and how adept they are at overcoming various on and off the field challenges. The award also assesses the fleets to analyze whether they have a clear direction and vision for their operations.
Government Fleet also announced the number 1 fleets in various categories based on the size of the fleets. For instance, the best fleet that came out on top of the others in the category of 499 or fewer assets was the Forest Preserve District of the DuPage County, Ill., with its reasonable fleet of 376 vehicles.
Meanwhile, the number 1 fleet in the mid-size category of 500 to 999 assets was the Denver International Airport, Colorado,with 940 vehicles. As for the largest size category, which judged fleets that have 1000 or more assets, the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, beat the rest to gain the top position with its incredibly impressive fleet of 1412 vehicles. It also garnered the top position in the top government fleets across the board.
